Cameroonian football legend, Samuel Eto’o has pleaded with the president of the Republic of Cameroon to release Iya Mohammed.
Samuel Eto’o has been all over the media, especially after his retirement from football. The former football player keeps doing great things. From creating an online bet; Betoo to preparing his bags to become a football coach.
This time around, news has it that the Betoo CEO has pleaded on the president of Cameroon to release the former president of Fecafoot. According to rumours, Iya Mohammed was imprisoned for embezzlement of public funds in 2013.
Eto’o has revealed that he is one of the reasons why the former president of Fecafoot was incarcerated. Admitting to his mistakes and claiming to be remorseful after these six years, the football giant pleaded with the President to order for the freedom of Iya Mohammed.
He said :
Iya Mohammed and I had a lot of fights. That is true. But, at that time, I did not have some information that I had well after. I am going to surprise you by saying that today I have the privilege of regularly hearing from President Iya. I take them by intermediaries. And I plead with President Paul Biya, who has often pardoned some of our brothers who have committed wrongdoing or not, to also think of President Iya Mohammed. When I was between 20 and 22 years old, I wanted to change the way a certain way. At 30, I understood how the world worked. It is sometimes the devil who is at your side, dressed with a beautiful jacket, who makes you believe that, whoever is in front of you, it is the devil.
