The Cameroonian film maker and actor took to his facebook page to write an open letter to everyone who is into showbiz in the country. A letter full of facts I must admit. Kang Quintus have been noted to be that Cameroonian film maker who have put in efforts to put Cameroon on the map with his beautiful arts. Though he consider himself to be young in the industry, never a day has wisdom become age and never ever a day will age become wisdom.check it out,
“Dear Cameroon Bloggers, Fashion Police and Film Industry Stakeholders… I am writing this open letter to you all because I am worried about the precedence our industry is setting… First of all, I want to state or reaffirm that I am a kid or baby in this industry with so much to learn or offer and I probably might not be in the best position to even say a word… But please permit me say this… Drawing from the recent Cameroon International Film Festival – Camiff and the just ended The African Film Festival – TAFF in Dallas, there have been more negative headlines than positives about our industry… For a fast growing and vibrant industry like ours, we need to focus more on the positives than negatives. We need more positive Public Relations for our industry…. CAMIFF 2016 was a great success with a lot of positives to write home with but instead, we focused more on talking about “outfits” and other negatives… At TAFF 2016, Cameroon was humbled and honored to have bagged home 4 awards out of 12 with multiple nominations in all 12 categories in contention, yet our headlines were more on “outfits” and the negatives… Very few of you did talk about the positives… I know many of you believe that negative publicity sells but at this moment, I beg to differ with you all. You may compare us with industry X or Y, but at this point in time, I think we are not at the level where negative news sells… Believe me, we will get there in due course… I also understand that as artists, we are role models and should lead by example but let’s not make it a precedence to cyber bully… I want to plead with us all to be more positive minded, to be more positive PR oriented and to avoid any negations as much as we can… For our industry to take the next step, we all need to play more of a positive PR role than negative… Let love lead… Yours humble servant 🙏🙏🙏 ~ Kang Quintus
