They took advantage of a few moments of their teacher’s absence to escape from the classroom and pursue their destiny. This took place in Douala, January 21st at the early hours of the day.


Students from the “Lycée Bilingue de Manengole” located in the district of Nlonako, Moungo department in the Littoral region, who went on a motorcycle, were killed in a traffic accident on the Manengole – Eboné axis, a section of the Douala – Bafoussam national road.

According to our sources, the victims were students of the Spanish Terminal A4 class.

“They responded well in the morning in their classroom. During class, the teacher went out to retrieve a document from the Teachers’ room. When he returns, he finds that three students have disappeared. A few minutes later, the principal receives a phone call announcing the sad news. Of the three students who left high school without the knowledge of the supervisors, two died. They are Paul Mouandjo and Marcel Ngomba. The third, Jules Kome, is seriously injured ”, testifies a local source.

This case is reminiscent of Philippe Ntamack Bapoun, 16, a 5th year student at Nkol-Eton high school who was killed in 2010 while trying to climb the high school wall.

In March 2020, the government announced the establishment of video surveillance on school campuses to combat delinquency in this environment.
