37 years old or not, Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has set a new record thanks to his double against Twente this week in the Dutch league.
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is approaching retirement, but continues to be valuable for Ajax Amsterdam this season. As proof, he allowed his team to clinch a victory on Thursday.
Against Twente, the 37-year-old forward, who confirmed he would retire at the end of the season, scored a life-saving brace entering in the
89th minute of the game.
While his side were held in failure, the former Real Madrid player scored two goals, in the 90th and 91st minutes, to deliver the victory to Eric ten Hag’s men.
He thus became the first player to score a double in the Dutch league after entering in the 89th minute of the game. Historical.
