MHD spits his first words after leaving the prison, he risk going back to prison after all.

Incarcerated for intentional homicide since January 2019, the French rapper MHD, star of the “afro-trap”, was released under judicial control this Thursday, July 16, 2020.

The French rapper MHD is now free to move. Upon his release from prison, he published photos and a video on his social media handles with a caption that could describe his experience as a prisoner.

“MHD: prison is another world,” wrote producer DSK on the Beat, who worked with MHD on his self-titled debut album on Snapchat. The video was later deleted from the social handle.

Mohamed Sylla alias MHD risks returning to prison. According to the words of his lawyer, Elise Arfi at AFP, the Paris Court of Appeal must examine, on July 23, the appeal brought by the Paris prosecutor’s office against the order of July 7 which led to his release and his placed under judicial supervision. If, in the meantime, the Paris Court of Appeal overturns this order made by a liberty and detention judge, a new arrest warrant could be issued against the artist, leading to a new imprisonment.

As a reminder, the rapper MHD was indicted in January 2019 for “intentional homicide” by an investigating judge.

Subsequently, he was placed in pretrial detention in the investigation into the death of a young man during a brawl in Paris. 25-year-old Parisian artist Mohamed Sylla has from the start “disputed any involvement in this brawl, his presence at the scene of the incident not being proven”, according to his lawyer.
