Cameroon does not have a music industry- Kameni reminds Cameroonians

Cameroonian singer, KAMENI had a couple of lessons to teach Cameroonians who do not know what they call a MUSIC INDUSTRY.

Boiler Room alongside Ballentine’s organised a Truce Music studios conversation with Cameroonian artistes Mani Bella, KAMENI and Happy D’Efoulan amongst other guests like the media.

Each of the artistes had something to say in regards to the Cameroon music industry and obviously how it can be improved.

But as you know Afriblinkers, we love the shade and saucy vibes.

Yes, Cameroonian singer KAMENI had to serve us that. She quickly reminded Cameroonians on what they probably did not and do not know.

KAMENI said “Cameroon does not have a music industry”.

But why did KAMENI say this ? In project management, they say there is a difference between a “team” and a “group”.

Using this analysis, KAMENI’s explanation will sit well in your mind.

At this event which took place in Yaoundé, 3rd May 2022 as from 8pm, the Cameroonian singer said a music industry contains a team and not a group.

Well, let me be more explicit. A team people gathered with same objective/goals to attain at a particular timeframe.

Whilst a group are just persons doing their things with no similar objectives.

For KAMENI, a music industry should have a team and not a group. Because the musicians ought to share same objectives for the growth of the industry.

Contrary to expectations, “the Cameroon entertainment industry is filled with hate, jealousy and disunity”.
