The plot of land given for the stadium construction project to the president of the Cameroon Football Federation Samuel Eto’o is a customary property of several families who have opposed the mayor’s decision.
On February 7, 2022, the president of the Cameroon Football Federation, sent a letter to the mayor of the town of Dschang to request for a piece of land for the construction of a football stadium. The mayor responded to Samuel Eto’o’s request by promising to provide him with a five-hectare plot of land for the construction of the said infrastructure.
The problem is that, the plot of land chosen for the project is a customary property of several families.
The latter approached the president of Fécafoot on 24 February to inform him that this “plot of land has always been the customary property of several ancestral families”. Moreover, “important investments such as: buildings, school, hospital under construction, dwellings, economic activities as well as various crops are been found on the site.
