Chelsea FC are looking forward to be the first Premier League team to try the “Robot Referee technology” at the FIFA Club World Cup.
After having lost against Corinthians in 2012, Thomas Tuchel’s Blues are looking forward to win the competition for the second time.
The Blues will be leaving England for United Arab Emirates Grace to their Champions League Success last season which made them the Champions Of Europe 2021 with Manchester City losing to them 1-0.
According to divert sources including football.London, the Chelsea Football Club will be the first team to try the “Robot referees” this Thursday.
It is believed that these robot referees will be used to make offside decisions within half a second.
Special cameras will be attached to the stadium roofs so as to be used to create a ‘limb-tracking system’, creating animated skeletons which will help in speeding up the decision making process in regards to offside calls.
These robot referees will then alert the VAR referees in place with the on-pitch referee then being subsequently informed.
This technology is reported to have been successfully used during the Arab cup. Chelsea will be the first English club experience this technology.
FIFA hopes on implementing this technology before the start of this year’s World Cup in November and December.
The FIFA government body says : “potential to provide new insights for coaches, medical staff, and fans.”
The Chelsea Football club will enter the competition at the semi-final stage where they will face either Al Hilal, Al Jazira or Pirae.
