The coach of the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon was facing the press on Thursday, on the sidelines of the third day of the qualifiers for the “Qatar 2022” World Cup.

The captain’s armband of the Cameroon national team has changed wearer since the start of the qualifiers for the “Qatar 2022” World Cup last month. It went from the arm of Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting to that of Vincent Aboubakar. An unexpected change that led to believe that there would be a problem of captaincy within the group. All the more so since there was a controversy last March over the abortive summons of Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting.

Faced with the press this Thursday, the coach of the Indomitable Lions was questioned on the issue. Antonio Conceiçao cut it short.

“I remain the boss of the Cameroon national football team. And I make the choices according to the playing strategies and for the good of the team. There is no problem Choupo; the proof is that he’s there in the squad and he’s at the service of the team”, he said.

Note that Cameroon faces Mozambique this Friday at the Japoma stadium. The match counts towards the third day of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
